Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti
Embark on an unforgettable journey through Tanzania most iconic wildlife distance
This is the moment you've been waiting for: your Tanzanian
safari starts here. You have so much to look forward to and
we'll get your trip underway as soon as we give you an
introduction to our team and explain what lies ahead.
We think you’ll be impressed with Tarangire National Park.
Most visitors love the distinct shapes of the baobab trees
silhouetted against the sky that make this place feel like a fairytale African landscape. Or visitors remember the elephants
that roam in family bands everywhere throughout the park. If
you’re lucky, you’ll also encounter the big cats – lions
especially, but also cheetahs and leopards – that are always a
possibility here. And there’s a fair degree of certainty that you
will tick wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, buffalo and zebra off your
wildlife-viewing list.
Upon arrival at JRO Airport, after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met by your safari guide. You will then drive to Arusha, where you will collect your lunch boxes before proceeding to Tarangire National Park for afternoon game drives. Later in the evening, you will continue to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
You're perfectly placed when you stay at Lake Burunge Baobab Tented Lodge on your visit to Tarangire National Park.
Almost everyone who visits Lake Manyara National Park falls in love with this unique park. Lake Manyara is most famous for being one of the few parks in Africa where its lions climb trees. It's not unusual to look up into the branches of Lake Manyara's forest canopy and find yourself face-to-face with a lion (or even an entire pride). Large populations of elephants and olive baboons are further highlights, while the backdrop to all wildlife sightings here is the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment which rises over the park's western boundary, or pretty Lake Manyara which dominates the east.
After breakfast, you will head to Lake Manyara National Park-a scenic wildlife park known for its tree-climbing lions, diverse birdlife, and lush landscapes set against the Great Rift Valley escarpment for a full day of game drives, with a packed lunch provided from your lodge. In the late afternoon, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
You won't want to leave your room when you stay at Escarpment Luxury Lodge. Everything from the hardwood floors, to the views from the private terrace or the stylish furnishings, makes staying in your room a pleasure. The views from the escarpment out over Lake Manyara National Park are superb, and there are even views from the swimming pool and restaurant.
You’ll learn why magical Ngorongoro is unlike anywhere else in Africa. Cloud forests encircle the crater rim, and the view out across the caldera of this former volcano – quite apart from the altitude – will leave you gasping for air. Your drive down a steep trail carries you onto the crater floor where a unique wildlife offering is added to the sheer beauty of the experience. You’ll share the sunken ecosystem of the crater floor with hyenas, lions, elephants, black rhinos and hippos. An ecosystem that has formed in the crater in the millennia since the volcano wrought its terrible fury upon the land. It could just be one of your best safari days ever.
After an early breakfast, you will descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, for a full day of game drives. Often referred to as the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, the crater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife within its enclosed ecosystem.
Throughout the day, you will explore the crater floor, where you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and, with a bit of luck, the rare black rhinoceros. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated site within the crater, typically near a hippo pool, allowing you to relax while surrounded by the stunning scenery.
Later in the afternoon, you will ascend the crater walls and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
You'll appreciate being based at Acacia The Castle at Ngorongoro for your visit to Ngorongoro Crater. It's a good place to return to at the end of your safari day.
You're going to be exploring the extraordinary heart of the Serengeti. Here in the Central Serengeti is where wildlife populations are largest, and it's especially good for seeing all three big cats. It's here also that you get to experience the classic savannah grasslands and acacia trees that are the signature landscapes of the East African safari.
After breakfast, you will depart for the world- renowned Serengeti National Park, traveling via the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive offers beautiful views of the Ngorongoro highlands before gradually descending into the vast plains that define the Serengeti ecosystem. Packed lunches will be carried for the journey.
Upon entering the park, you will begin your afternoon game drive, exploring the endless plains that are home to an incredible variety of wildlife including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and numerous antelope species.
Later in the evening, you will proceed to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay in Serengeti.
Awake to the sounds of the Serengeti and set out for a full day of immersive game drives across its iconic plains and river valleys. Track predators on the hunt, observe vast herds grazing in the distance, and witness the rhythm of life unfold in this remarkable ecosystem. Break for a scenic lunch in the bush before continuing your exploration, returning to camp in the evening with unforgettable safari moments.
At Serengeti Sound of Silence, you're perfectly placed for seeing the incredible animals that this park has to offer. The location is not only good for watching wildlife, it's also lovely and quiet, with beautiful views of the surrounding acacias and savannah. Meals are served in the dining tent, the safari tents are stylish, and a warm welcome is an essential part of the experience.
