Tour Itinerary

Your detailed 9-day journey through Tanzania's most spectacular destinations

Arrival at the Airport

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from African Overseas Safaris. The drive to Arusha typically takes 30-45 minutes, providing your first glimpses of the stunning Tanzanian landscape.

Once you arrive at your accommodation, relax and unwind after your journey. Refresh yourself with a complimentary beverage, and enjoy the amenities offered at the lodge or hotel.

Arusha to Sinya (Western Kilimanjaro)

Journey to Sinya, a 600-square-kilometer private concession in western Kilimanjaro bordering Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido, and Ol Doinyo Orok.

Experience authentic Maasai culture with a traditional population of around 2,000 people living in scattered “bomas.” This Community Conservation Project promotes the well-being of the Maasai people.

West Kilimanjaro to Tarangire National Park

Journey to Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River which provides the only water source for wildlife during the dry season. The park features diverse vegetation including elephant grass and acacia woodlands.

Tarangire is famous for its elephant families, often seen by the river, along with giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and predators like lions and leopards. The park also boasts the highest number of breeding bird species in the world.

Lake Manyara National Park

Drive 120 km west of Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park. This small yet diverse park is known for its shallow Salt Lake, home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species.

While exploring, you might see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and possibly lions lounging in the trees. The park features varied landscapes including grassy plains, primate-filled woodlands, and baobab-dotted cliffs.

Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is the largest national park in Tanzania, featuring grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah, and mountains. It’s the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, known for its beautiful landscapes and scientific importance.

Witness the Great Migration: every October and November, over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras migrate south. Their strong instinct to move is so powerful that nothing—droughts, gorges, or crocodile-infested rivers—can stop them.

Highlight: The Serengeti is the home of the Great Wildebeest Migration and the best place for an authentic African safari experience.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Drive from the Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater for a game viewing drive. This is your chance to see the Big Five: Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo, and Elephant.

Known as the “eighth wonder of the world,” Ngorongoro Crater has the highest density of wildlife on the continent. It’s one of the best spots to see the endangered black rhinoceros and is home to all of the Big Five.
